In the northeast corner of the former Quonset-Davisville Naval Base is the Allen Harbor Marina, located in a natural sheltered harbor with excellent views of Narragansett Bay. Acquired from the Navy, the Town owns and operates the Marina, that includes 82 moorings, 115 slips and 3 transient moorings. In addition a boat ramp is available for public use. The seasonal staff is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the busy boat ramp and the Marina that is open from May through October. Their chief task is to provide well maintained facilities for the community to enjoy the recreational opportunities of the area. The ramp at Allen Harbor Marina is open year round and free of charge. Parking is free of charge. The new ramp at Allen Harbor was partially paid for by a Federal and State grant. The ramp still belongs to the Town of North Kingstown and is managed by the Allen Harbor Marina staff. Previously a wash down station was available to boaters, the wash down station is now closed. Allen Harbor Marina is closed for the winter from mid-December through March. Marina staff returns in April. Avondale Boat Yard is a full service Boat Yard offering experienced technicians, and a dealer for Yanmar Diesel engines. We have slips, moorings, indoor and outdoor winter storage. Boaters also will find a fuel dock with Gasoline, Diesel fuel, water and pump out facility. We have a knowledgeable and friendly staff who will be happy to help you. Proceed across Little Narragansett Bay. We are 1 mile up the river from the green flasher at the mouth of the river. You will see our fuel dock on the starboard side as you come up the river, Welcome! SUMMER SLIPS We have 96 slips on two floating docks and one fixed dock. Boat Slips range in length from 20ft-50ft. Our 2021 rate is $145 per foot for the season. MOORINGS We have three moorings located just north of our docks. TRANSIENT DOCKAGE Through out the summer we offer space to transient boaters. John Bannister established the Wharf in 1742 as a commercial and social lifeline for Colonial Newport. It has fulfilled that purpose through many manifestations, down to the present day. Marina Approach and Docking Bannister’s Wharf Marina is a 30-slip, deep-water marina located at the wharf’s end. It is located in the center of Newport Harbor, adjacent to the Newport Yachting Center. The marina has both floating docks with finger piers and stationary, alongside docking and can accommodate large yachts. Marina hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in-season, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. off-season.

Matunuck Marina is located in East Matunuck, RI, just west of Galilee off Point Judith for convenient access in all directions. The Marina has slips that can accommodate power boats up to 28 feet. Seasonal slips and transient reservations are available. The annual rate is determined by multiplying the overall length, (as measured the furthest point bow to the furthest point stern inclusive of but not limited to: raised outboard motors, pulpits, railings, jack plates, etc.) times the per foot charge. A discount of $4 per foot will be granted to those who provide a copy of their commercial fishing license with deposit and required documents.

Newport Marina - Lee's Wharf is privately owned with one of the best marina facilities, located in the heart of downtown Newport, Rhode Island. We are family and pet friendly. We offer a fuel dock, waste pump-out station and electrical hookups for 30, 50 and 100 Amp service. We offer all the service amenities you need. Point Judith Marina is well qualified for routine maintenance to major repairs. All our technicians are factory trained in diesel and gasoline engine for outdrives and inboard technologies. Our technicians are factory trained for Volvo Penta IPS drive systems. For your new Volvo Penta Diesel, we are a Rapid Response® service center.

Our slip sizes range from 21 feet through 95 feet. Currently we have some very limited slips available in our "new" facility, call us directly for availability and specifics on these slips. We also have transient slips on a limited basis but it would be prudent to call well in advance to secure one. Pointview Marina has been servicing the needs of boaters, large and small in the harbor of historic Point Judith, Rhode Island. Located less than 1 Nautical mile from the harbor entrance. Deepwater access is easy and safe for boats up to 100 feet in length. We have recently acquired the adjacent marina, Salt Pond Marine Railway, which will allow us to haul larger boats than any other yard in Point Judith, expand our storage facilities and in the near future offer a world class dockage facility with modern yacht club amenities. Our full service marina can repair everything from engines to structural components and can haul boats up to 75 tons in weight and 23 feet wide for dry storage and repairs.

Ponaug Marina is a small family owned marina located on Apponaug Cove in Warwick, Rhode Island. We offer easy access to Greenwich Bay, Newport & Block Island. A true safe haven for mariners, Safe Harbor Wickford Cove is nestled in one of the foremost hurricane holes on the eastern seaboard. Affording boaters central access to the marvelous waters of Narragansett Bay, the marina offers convenient dockside amenities combined with the quaint appeal of the picturesque seaside village of Wickford. Safe Harbor Wickford Cove Enter Narragansett Bay (West Passage). North up passage and under Jamestown Bridge. Head due north toward Wickford leaving Fox Island to port. Head toward breakwater and Wickford Harbor. Once in harbor, turn south at the gray can #7. Marina is straight ahead at large green building. Safe Harbor Wickford North - Wickford Marina As you enter the breakwater at the entrance to Wickford Harbor hail the marina on VHF 09. Proceed westward and do not take the left channel toward the center of town. Use caution when transiting the gap between Cornelius Island and Wickford Yacht Club. Once past the Wickford Yacht Club and Pleasant St Warf, Safe Harbor Wickford North - Wickford Marina will be off your port side bow.

Our location just east of Newport makes us a competitive and enticing alternative as a layover on your way to the Elizabeth islands, Martha's Vineyard, Cape Cod and Nantucket. Upon your arrival our experienced and dedicated staff will assist you making your docking easy and hassle free. We offer gas which is delivered by truck on Friday mornings at 11:00 am. From the west At R "2" Q R WHIS south of Brenton Reef, it's a straight shot east –northeast for about 5.5 miles to G "1" BELL off Cormorant Reef. Keep south of this buoy. Then, head another 1.4 miles to R "2A" Bell at the entrance to the Sakonnet River. As you enter the Sakonnet River Be aware of the fish trap on your starboard side it is marked on your charts. This fish trap is connected to our breakwater you must go around on the north side. From here, head straight to the northeast to Fl R 4s 34 ft 8M "2" at the entrance to Sakonnet Harbor. From the east Stay at least 1 mile offshore here, and make a course for GR C at Elisha Ledge. Rounding this buoy to either side, it's about 1.6 miles west to R "2" Bell marking Schuyler Ledge, 1 mile south of Sakonnet Point. Stay to the south of R "2" Bell as you head west. Pass the R "2" Bell by about a mile, keeping a mile offshore to avoid the rocks and fish traps. (Please note the legend on your chart for the areas around Newport and Sakonnet that mark the areas where fish traps are located) There are two privately maintained Y Fl Y 2.5s markers west of West Island and about a half mile apart. These identify fish traps that are fished until about mid-June….keep them to the east. Then, turn northwest toward R "2A" Bell. Both West and East Island are uninhabited; keep a safe distance. From R "2A" Bell, it's another mile to Fl R 4s 34 ft 8M "2" on the north end of the breakwater at Sakonnet Harbor.

Maritime Center Located in the heart of downtown Newport, the City's Maritime Center offers visiting boaters safe, clean, and modern amenities inside a historic Armory building on Lower Thames Street. The Maritime Center offers a variety of amenities to boaters in Newport Harbor: Showers (coin operated, change machine available) Laundry (coin operated, change machine available) Wi-Fi Ice and vending machines Restrooms Transient Dockage at Ann Street Pier for vessels less than 40' LOA (first come, first serve) The City's adjacent Ann Street Pier offers a free dinghy dock for dinghies less than 14'. The Newport Maritime Center was first opened in May of 2012 at the Armory building located at 365 Thames Street. Funding for what was an extensive rehabilitation was made possible through a Boating Infrastructure Grant funded by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service along with cash contributions from the City of Newport, the Newport County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Newport Restoration Foundation and the Bowen’s Wharf Company.

The Tiverton Yacht Club operates a marina for club members only located in the Tiverton Basin at the north end of the Sakonnet River. The Club has slips and moorings located just in front of the yacht club on Riverside Drive. Limited dock space and moorings are available for seasonal rental to members with availability based on waiting list position. Dinghy space at the dock is also availabe for seasonal rental to members who are renting club moorings or have their own moorings in the Tiverton Basin. An outer dock ("T" dock) is reserved for all Club members for short term tie-up allowing loading, washdown, repairs, etc. Lockers and small boat racks are available on the beach for seasonal rental. The Tiverton Yacht Cub has dock space that currently supports 19 boats and also has eight (8) moorings. Boats on the dock currently range in length from 16 feet to 51 feet. Water depth at mean-low-water ranges from 3 feet near shore to 25 feet at the outer transient dock. Our boats on mooring currently range from 18 feet to 38 feet in length. TYC marina will accommodate a transit boat if space is available. USE OF DOCKS BY TYC MEMBERS WHO DO NOT LEASE SLIP SPACE The outer dock is reserved for transit members who do not lease marina slips and need to load/unload, washdown, fill water tanks, clean, etc. The guideline is that you stay on the dock no more than ½ hour but we are flexible on the time if there is nobody waiting to use the dock. If you need to stay for a longer period of time such as for repairs, the Marina Chair should be notified and the Chair will find a place for you to tie up where your stay will have the least impact on the marina (such as an empty slip). If you need to use the docks overnight, there is a charge of $0.50/foot/day. There is currently a single water hose on the floating docks. This spring (2021) we plan to upgrade the water system on the floating docks, including the North dock, to include more hose drops with better water pressure. Also, there are two electrical power stanchions which provide limited electrical power to the floating docks. These stanchions provide 30 amp marine connector power access and regular 110 volt, 20 amp, GFI protected power.
