The town is located on the slopes of Mount S.Primo (1,684 m a.s.l.), which blocks the view of the sun in the winter months. The stretch of coast between Lezzeno and Bellagio is characterized by the presence of numerous shipyards specialized in the construction of motorboats. The Matteri shipyard has historically specialized in the restoration of wooden boats.
