ACI MARINA KORČULA

Marina in Dubrovnik-Neretva
ACI marina Korčula, situated next to the historical center of the town, offers an unforgettable view of the town ringed with centuries-old stone walls. In 2013, ACI marina Korčula was awarded the prize “Tourist Flower – Quality for Croatia,” with a special award for the best island marina, for the second place in the category of the best small marina on the Adriatic, while it was awarded for the third place in the same category in 2014. The Marina has also been the winner of the Blue Flag award for many years. Approach Korčula is a town and harbour in the north-eastern part of its namesake island. The harbour is divided into an eastern and a western section, with ACI’s marina located in the eastern section. When approaching from Hvar through the Peljašac (Pelješki) Channel the red lighthouse (Fl R 2s 7m 4M) serves as a landmark; its exact position is 42°57.8’ N 17°08.4’ E. The marina is sighted after rounding the lighthouse and the whole of the peninsula, which is encircled by prominent town walls, with the easily visible cathedral bell tower. The entrance to the marina on the south side of the breakwater is marked by a green lighthouse (Fl G 5s 7m 4M). The safest approach from the south is by rounding the Sestrice (Fl (4) W 15s 18m 11M) and Stupe Velike (Fl (Obscd) R 3s 9m 3M) lighthouses from the north, and then using the green lighthouse in the eastern part of the town harbour (Fl G 3s 7m 2M) as a landmark. During summer storms the western part of the town harbour should be avoided.

ACI Marina Slano

Marina in Dubrovnik-Neretva
The newest ACI marina in Slano is the ideal starting point for cruising the Elaphite islands or for a trip to Dubrovnik. It was named after the creator of the ACI marina chain Veljko Barbieri. It was built in a beautiful bay, whichhas always been a good shelter for all boats. There is a 50-kilometre bicycle trail for visitors who want an active vacation on Dubrovnik’s shore. ACI marina Slano is in the spacious and gorgeous bay of the same name. Lopud, a small town situated along the bay and island of the same name, surrounded by lush vegetation, the cradle of Dubrovnik navigation, and its bay Šunj are only around 10 nautical miles away from Slano. Koločep, the last inhabited island of the South Adriatic with Donje and Gornje Čelo, is a few miles eastward. Approach The ACI marina Veljko Barbieri is located in the northeast part of the spacious Slano harbor, which burrowed itself one nautical mile into the land on the northern shore of the Koločepski channel. The marina is well protected from all winds and has been a famous mooring spot since antiquity. One sails into the Slano harbor through a 340 meters long passage between the Gornji and Donji cape. On the Donji cape (W point of the bay), there is a lighthouse (C Bl 3s 16m 4M). The harbor light is situated on the local boardwalk, 150 meters to the northwest from the marina. One needs to sail on the NE course from the entrance to the Slano harbor to reach the marina. The water depths in the marina are sufficient for safe sailing and are mostly between 10 and 35 meters. The water is only shallower near the shores (to a minimum of five meters). One sails into the Koločepski channel, which is protected by a succession of Elaphite islands, through several passages. The first one from the west is Mali Vratnik between the peninsula Pelješac and the islet Olipa, followed by Veliki Vratnik, between Olipa and the island Jakljan and the Passage Harpoti, between the islands of Jakljan and Šipan. More to the east one can find the Doors of Lopud, between the islands of Šipan and Lopud, the Doors of Koločep, between Lopud and Koločep, and Velika Vrata (Big Doors), which represent the southernmost entrance to the channel.
