Take note of the following prior to your Departure: Return all access keys during office hours to the Marina Office. After hours key return boxes are at the top of each gangway. Ensure any plugs, keys, electrical adaptors or any other item borrowed are returned prior to departure. Check all mail has been collected from the Marina Office and ensure mail is redirected if necessary. Finalise your account. CLEARING CUSTOMS Breakwater Marina is a designated Port of Entry as per Customs Act 1902 -Notice QW0/02. If you are intending to clear at Breakwater Marina’s wharf, please notify the Townsville Customs office on: townsvilledo@customs.gov.au Pre-Arrival Reporting Requirements The Vessel Owner or operator arriving in Australian waters from overseas is required to report their impending arrival to Customs not later than 96 hours before arrival. Details to be provided and methods of reporting are provided on the Australian Borderforce website. Australian Ports of entry are also available on the Australian Borderforce website – see Travelers – Yachts traveling to and from Australia – Ports of entry; then select the relevant state. Townsville’s Breakwater Marina is an designated clearance port and has allocated the landward side of the refuelling wharf for boarding. Refer to our Marina Map for details. Clearing Customs – Your Arrival When arriving in Australian waters, you must clear your arrival at the nearest designated port of entry. For details on available clearance ports, refer to Australian Borderforce website. To confirm availability and tide access, please contact the Marina office by phone on 4721 2233 or email The vessel must clearly display the International Pratique Q-Flag (yellow). Customs and Quarantine clearance must be completed before going ashore: Stay on board. No persons other than a Quarantine or Customs officer is allowed to board your craft, nor can any person, animal or article leave the craft until you have been given full clearance. Depending on your arrival time, Customs and Quarantine may require all persons to remain onboard overnight before clearing the following day. Don’t throw any waste or foodstuffs overboard while you’re in Australian waters or while you’re moored. Use designated Quarantine disposal points. Keep all food and animals secure until your vessel has been inspected by Quarantine officers. Don’t trade foodstuffs with other overseas vessels. Keep your vessel free of insects. A small but well located marina for the city of Maryborough. The marina is basically a long floating pontoon that can accommodate 18 yachts of moderate size. If you can't fit in the marina, the marina owns 16 swing moorings opposite where you can wait for a spot or simply stay on a mooring. At this time (25.8.21) the marina charges, $3.75 per foot per week for the pontoon, or $70 per week for the swing mooring, it's really that cheap. They also have 3 units available to rent at the marina if you need. Power and water at the marina but fuel is from the local service station. All shops (major shopping mall) within walking distance. Huge military museum nearby to. Marina staff are super helpful and friendly. 20nm from the river entrance to the marina. Use the tide, it flows fast.

With passage in and out of a well-marked channel, the QCYC is a perfect place to begin your explorations of Moreton Bay. The Marina consists of 62 berths accommodating vessels up to 15m in length overall. Berths are available for overnight, weekly or long term rental through the QCYC Office. Insurance for your vessel, including public liability cover of at least $10million, is required. Some berths are held by individuals on long term leases and are occasionally resold by the holders. All prices offered are subject to change without notice. Skippers wishing to rent a berth for longer than one month must be Full or Family Members. For more information on membership, visit our Membership Page. Full, Family and Country Members who do not own or rent a berth are entitled to moor in the visitors mooring area near the boat ramp free of charge for one night prior to and one night after a race or cruise. All other members are entitled to discounts on occasional mooring. A large hardstand area provides for Members requiring storage of their vessel either short or long term basis, with easy access to the Club boat ramp. The boat ramp is capable of handling boats of a gross weight up to eight tonnes. Nine pile moorings suitable for multihulls and shoal draft vessels are situated opposite the Clubhouse.
