In the port of Lavrio there is a possibility of servicing 200 pleasure boats, with the prospect of soon increasing to 400, completing a breathtaking project for the city and the port with the construction of floating buoys. Especially in the summer months, several professional boats are served, mainly sailing boats and, of course, private ones of various types. Lovers of maritime tourism prefer the port of Lavrio, due to its proximity to Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport, but also because it is an easier way to approach most of the islands of the Aegean Sea. Numerous yacht rental companies are active in the port, which also maintain service offices for those interested. Also, the Lavrio Nautical Sports Club has its headquarters in the port, but other nautical sports clubs are also often active, especially in the context of major national and international competitions. The users of the tourist sector of the port of Lavrio have at their disposal car parking, electricity and water supplies, a ramp for lifting and launching boats as well as fuel refuelling services. During the winter months, boat owners have the option of using a highly secure boat mooring area. There are four marinas in Glyfada with a berthing capacity of 750 yachts of different sizes. Glyfada’s marina can berth yachts up to 35 meters according to the depths and entrance of the harbour. As it is administered by Glyfada’s Municipality its facilities and services do not meet the higher requirements, more paperwork is required, but, it is the least expensive. Its proximity to Glyfada’s centre, the centre of the South Coast of Athens, is an advantage making the marina popular amongst Greeks. The harbor of Aegina, being close to Athens, is always crowded - especially at weekends. Yachts moor stern/bow-to using their anchors either on the N quay, where there are depths of 2.0 – 2.5 metres, or on the S quay, where there are depths at the W end of 5.0 – 6.0 metres but little more than a metre at the E end near the slipway. A yacht should keep well off the quay in either spot, since the ferries cause quite a wash on entry. Outside the harbour is a small marina, Aegina Marina, protected by a long detached breakwater, where yachts berth on long pontoons. However, this is usually filled with local yachts on permanent moorings and there is little space for visitors.

This is the old Ydra harbor. Usually very busy with watersports / yachting people. You have to moor stern to the shore as usual in the Mediterranean. Mind that after lowering your anchor, many more will do so. In the end of the evening the ferry will do so as well ...... Mind this when you want to leave the next morning, it took us over an hour.
