About Ford Cove Harbour Authority
The Ford Cove harbour is located near the beginning of Central Road, at Ford’s Cove, on the southwest side of Hornby Island. There are two long fingers, one for recreational boaters with transient moorage available and one for commercial fishing vessels. Additional short finger floats are available for day trippers and runabouts. There is a timber approach and wharfhead. The facility is protected by a quarried rock breakwater and a floating log breakwater. No reservations needed between October 1st March 31st. Moorage is first come first served, with the exception of private slips. No fuel or water at the Harbour No power on breakwater Stretching between Ford Cove and the ferry landing at Shingle Spit, Ford Cove Trail is a great walk and easy bike ride. Marine wildlife thrive in the waters surrounding Ford Cove Harbour, including Orcas, (Killer Whales) and Humpbacks. Other aquatic animals include Sea Lions, Seals, and Pacific white sided Dolphins
