The septic tank can be emptied with a suction drain device in the port. Bicycles can be rented from the Hos-tell Lilja counter if your own bicycle does not fit on the boat. Nykarleby is a nice, authentic little town worth walking to. You can walk along the old embankment, as an alternative to the climb. A little outside the marina is the small excursion islet of Segelsällskapet Ägir, Loppan. The pier is deep and with a deeper long distance boat you can stay there and disembark at Andra Sjön with a boat.
